ABLOY® PROTEC2 CLIQ is a true one key solution where CLIQ keys are able to operate both the electromechanical and mechanical cylinders.

ABLOY® PROTEC2 CLIQ is a very cost effective solution. CLIQ cylinders are installed in areas which require electronic features such as audit trails, time limited access and easy blocking of lost keys. Those areas could for instance be the perimeters, storerooms or server rooms. Mechanical ABLOY® PROTEC2 cylinders are then installed in the other areas.

Software and Management

CLIQ WEB MANAGER is the new user-friendly, cloud (web) based, software to manage CLIQ master keying systems. CLIQ WEB MANAGER provides easy, secure and flexible management of your keys and cylinders.

Administrators can connect to CLIQ WEB MANAGER via the internet from anywhere in the world and easily change the access rights for the user keys. The key holders can then update their keys via network connected CLIQ REMOTE programming devices placed on a wall or connected to a mobile phone.
All communication with CLIQ WEB MANAGER is encrypted and a personal PIN code protected CLIQ C-key as well as a certificate in the web browser is required to login to the software.

CLIQ WEB MANAGER with CLIQ REMOTE enables many of the tasks involved in the management of an electronic master keying system to be done automatically. Access right changes, audit trails collection and key validity extensions are examples of such tasks.

CLIQ WEB MANAGER with CLIQ REMOTE often eliminates the need to service locks on site.

CLIQ Intelligent Electronics

CLIQ is based on electronics that can be embedded directly inside the key and the core of a cylinder. Each ABLOY® PROTEC2 CLIQ key and cylinder contains a unique electronic code, designated for one individual element only and cannot be altered or corrupted.

A replaceable battery is inserted into the key and serves as the sole power source. The electronic mechanism embedded in the cylinder, is a self-contained unit. This translates into no wiring whatsoever.

Consequently, the intelligent cylinder installs with ease like any normal cylinder.

Operating Principle

The use of ABLOY® PROTEC2 CLIQ keys and cylinders is nearly the same as the use of a normal mechanical locking system. The only difference is the sound signals given to the key holder when a CLIQ key is inserted in a CLIQ cylinder. The electronics in the key and cylinder cause a small delay of 0.4 seconds before the key can be turned after the key insertion.

The key has a metal shaft and a plastic bow. The CLIQ electronics is located under the plastic cover.

CLIQ Key stampings
Key identification stampings are made on the key. One of identifications is a globally unique number.

CLIQ key battery
The battery powers the electronics in the key as well as in the cylinder.

The battery is located under a plastic cover.

Battery specifications:
3V lithium (type CR2450N).
Lifetime is about ten years or 100,000 key operations. CLIQ Connect keys will have a battery lifetime of about one year.

The battery must be replaced when the key starts to indicates low battery. It is possible to make around 50 key operations until the battery is empty once the low battery warning is given.

Speed of the electronic function
CLIQ cylinders can be operated 0.1 seconds after key insertion. A visual and audible indication is given to the key holder when the key can be turned.

Cylinder: IP classification IP 51 (= limited amount of dust can enter the cylinder, and it is protected against water drops coming directly vertically).

CLIQ products are tested against the ATEX directive.
The entire keying system has to be ATEX approved. Old keying systems cannot to be converted to an ATEX system and ATEX systems cannot be converted to non ATEX system. ATEX keying system is slightly more expensive than normal CLIQ system due to the annual ATEX audit and slightly modified production lines.

CLIQ ATEX products are approved:

Lifetime of the products

The expected lifetime of the electronic products is about seven years. After that the failure rate of any electronic products starts to grow due deterioration of electronic components and overall wear.
